I will change the music soon. Did anyone listen to it? What did you think of Kasey Chambers, Australian Gypsy?

Another lovely start on a Saturday--early morning crisis with tenants. A knock on my door before 7 a.m. There is no better profession in which to torture thyself than being a landlord. I think people are confusing me with Rosie the Riveter.
Mother nature bared her fangs today and her temper showed us gust of wind and torrents of rain. My daughter felt compelled to point out the similarities between the weather & my mood... At the tender age of 12, I wonder if she can possibly understand the torture of being denied the luxury of sleeping in?
On a finer note, I found a pair of oh so sexy 4" heels to wear to the Jewel concert. They are divine with cute straps that buckle around my ankle. They scream pedicure before you step into me. I must confess I have kind of a shoe obsession. I haven't counted lately but at last count I had over 60 pairs of shoes. Being that I am Rosie the Riveter, I am no doubt prepared for any occasion. I must have hiking boots, practical flats, power suit pumps, strappy sandals, water shoes, nikes, reeboks, sketchers, ankle boots, flippers, cowboy boots, even platform shoes.. The list goes on & on...and, I keep buying.
Went to see 50 Dates with Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler. Maybe because I'm pathetically overstressed, overworked & overexhausted..but I laughed so hard through this movie. I mean it was ridiculously funny. Maybe it was the moment. I'm not sure. Anyone else see this movie? What'dya think of it?

Yesterday, I was right in the middle of adding up a rather large deposit and my calculator died. Being the great and powerful IT person that I am, I first checked the power source. (Is it embaressing when you forget to do this first!) Sure enough it was unplugged. I plugged it back in assuming that it was accidently pulled it out of the power strip. Same thing happened twice again today! So, by this time I've nicknamed the calculator s-l-u-t.. she's so loose...you get the idea...the way my great and powerful mind operates..See, this is WHY YOU SHOULD NOT WORK AT HOME BY YOURSELF...you start talking to inanimate objects and start give them names...
Tonight being the great and powerful Mommy that I am, I decide to be of enormous help with my daughter's bacteria growth project. But, I'll be damned if I'm about to calculate any multiplication manually so I turn to the trusty but loose calculator. I'm adding away and happen to note that my terror (I mean terrier) dog has come into the room. He's being the ever loyal companion; lying at my feet under the desk. I add another number and blink...calculator dies yet again. I look under the desk in time to see the dog with s-l-u-t's cord in his mouth. Sure enough he's pulled the cord out of the power strip. Seems the noise bothers him and he's figured out how to stop it. Guess my dog hates math too. Now I need a new nickname for my calculator. Any suggestions?

dI was awakened this a.m. to the neighbor in the garage apartment behind my house dcalling for help. She'd fallen; twisted her ankle. I called the ambulance after she threw me her keys over the dbalcony so we could get into her place. dLooks like she'll be in the hospital all week atd least. So the whole ambulance crewh got to see me in my dufold underwear. Not like I had time to get dressed or apply makeup. Hey, when someone screams I come running... Everything happened so fast and it was cold lastnight! Lots of action today as I had to get the DSL installed at a clients place then the email wouldn't work-got that all straightened out. Closing on my parents farm and lawyers bite. I had to be the bad guy and tell them to do it our way or go...away. Of course, they did it our way...must be my charming phone demeaner...
dStarted snowing hered...really bad which I love! The customer & cancelled my last appt. of the day as she almost slid off the road going home and didn't want me to risk it. Got the rug picked out & ordered for the office. The workers have the counter just about done. They'll build my work bench tomorrow. They have the walls & ceilings in. Our electrician got the heat & lighting in. I wanted to be able to control the store and the service center lights separately but I'll survive. The electrician does get me computer jobs so I'll let it slide by... Man does it ever look awesome. It is SO weird seeing my design on paper come to life! Even the door hinges in the way I wanted it to. I'm easily impressed. Don't give me diamonds. Give me a well-hung.. what was I talking about? Oh, door.

Before The Day Spirals Downhill...
Do something every day that you don't want to do; this is the golden rule for acquiring the habit of doing your duty without pain.
~Mark Twain~
I love Mark Twain. If you don't know his incredible story, I highly recommend doing some research on him.
Before I begin this mundane and tedious task of what I consider "work" ..thought I'd jot a few paragraphs. Walking in the parade yesterday with hundreds of Irish descendents was rather fun. We practiced our accents, "hawareyas?" and sang "Oh, Danny Boy".. My Irish Terrier got into a fight. A german shepard came right at him so suddenly he knocked his owner onto her back and dragged her. Of course, my terrier being the sort of dog not to back down (he was the alpha dog of the litter) went right after this dog. (Mind you my terrier is only 5 months old; still a puppy while this dog was 3 x's his size.) There was shuffling, shoving, yelling & some collar pulling but we got them apart with no fur flying or mutilated flesh. Someone happened to notice the banner of our Irish name I was carrying and said, "Tis nowonder the little lad didn't back down, he's like his namesake." I said, "and don't you be forgetting that now, will ya?" We all had a good laugh over that. I did get a chance to have 1 green beer before MIL came strolling over and needed me to find FIL as he was to attend a funeral. So we dropped off this little leprechaun complete with plaid pants, green blazer, irish hat and bow tie...at a funeral. If people didn't know he had alzheimers...they might be suspecting it at this point. He refused to go home and change.

May Your Troubles Be Less and Your Blessings Be More

HAPPY SAINT PATRICKS DAY!
Today is the Saint Patrick's Day parade in our town. I am getting ready for the 2 mile hike down Main Street w/the kids. I wasn't really all that excited about being in the parade, however, I've resigned to the fact that I just might have some fun. We're taking our Irish Terrier. While that could be borrowing trouble I'm feeling pretty defiant so I said, "Why not? I mean he is Irish too!" I will let you know how it all turns out. If offered the opportunity to partake in the Guiness or Green Beer...I may say yes and since I will not be driving... Sláinte chugat...
